HOW TO PLAY SLASHIMI

This game initially uses a somewhat strange reel layout. It only has 3 reels but 5 rows, resulting in a rather tall game table.

Wins are not calculated using traditional paylines. Instead, all you need is to have matching symbols on three reels, going from left to right. It doesn’t matter which row the symbols appear on as long as they form an uninterrupted line of three or more.

Where things get more complicated is once we introduce Slashimi’s trademark reel-splitting mechanic.

Two-for-One

Every round, Chef Miike will choose one type of symbol and slice it in two. All symbols of that kind appearing on the table in that round are doubled. They act as two symbols for the purposes of determining payouts.

For instance, if a symbol on the first reel is doubled, you’ll only need one additional symbol on the second reel for a winning combination. Similarly, doubled-up symbols can greatly increase payouts.

As a result, the game can have up to 1,000 ways to win. You would need the whole board covered in one type of symbol for that to happen, but it’s theoretically possible. Before splitting, Slashimi boasts 150 ways to win.
