Clash of Camelot Slot Review

1 People Voted!

Clash of Camelot is an online slot game that takes you back to the mythic times of King Arthur and his brave knights. Made and released by Play’n Go in 2022, the game houses 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 paylines with a 96.28% RTP. This non-progressive slot game also features wilds, multipliers, free spins, and mobile play. This game has a jackpot of 35,000x the bet and is available for playing on both desktop & mobile.

If you’ve ever wanted to enjoy an epic showdown between King Arthur and his sword enemy Mordred (and win some cash in the process), now you can. Play’n Go’s new release takes you back to the legendary kingdom of Camelot. The Knights of the Round Table seem to be on vacation, though – only Arthur and Morder are around for the fun.

Clash of Camelot offers top-tier graphics, fun features, and a lot of chances to win huge payout multipliers. That’s how we would sum up this online slot in a few words, at least. If you’re looking for more details, though, keep reading our Clash of Camelot review.

From then on in, simply press the spin button and hope for the best. You can also hold the Space button for faster animations and gameplay.

To win Clash of Camelot, all you need to do is hit three or more matching symbols along one of the game’s 20 paylines. All winning combinations start at the leftmost reel and go from left to right. Importantly, the number of possible winning lines is fixed at 20.

The real meat of the Clash of Camelot slot game is hidden in the special features and symbols, though. Scroll a bit down for a full explanation of how those work.

Casino Bloke Best tips for Clash of Camelot Slot

  • 1The Bravery option for the free spins has a ‘range’ of possible outcomes. They can be somewhat worse or somewhat better than simply clicking one of the other banners.
  • 2That said, the remaining three options are more-or-less the same in terms of RTP. Obviously, though, the bigger the multiplier, the fewer spins you get, so the volatility increases.
  • 3Wilds always come with Multipliers during Free Spins.

Two special features in Clash of Camelot slots are always active – the multiplier and the wilds.

Wilds can replace any other type of symbol, as they usually do. However, the crown at the top of the reels may randomly show a multiplier ranging from 2x to 100x. If this happens, any Wilds you hit on that spin come with the selected multiplier. This multiplier is randomly selected on every Free Spin, too.

Arthur and Mordred are also special symbols that can only appear on reels 1 and 5. Firstly, both act as Wilds and can replace other symbols to make winning combinations. Secondly, if both Arthur and Mordred appear on the same roll, they spread to cover the whole reel and a Free Spin bonus round kicks off.

Clash of Camelot free spins start with Arthur and Mordred having a swordfight. Each time their swords clash, a Wild appears in a single position on the reels. It is immediately replaced by a Wild. This can happen up to 9 times, which essentially covers the whole board in Wilds. Combined with the fact Wilds always have Multipliers during Free Spins, this can make the first free spin incredibly lucrative.

Moreover, you get to customize the Free Spin round a bit. You have three options of varying volatility:

The fourth option is to click Bravery. This option is generally weaker, but can possibly give multipliers up to 100x. You can find the full list of possible outcomes in the info panel.

Relying heavily on special features and multipliers, Clash of Camelot is an extremely volatile game. It has a huge potential for profit with maximum winnings going up to 35,000x your bet!

The hit rate is relatively low, though. More importantly, Free Spins in Clash of Camelot by Play’n Go are extremely hard to hit and you won’t see them often.

The card symbols (and the T) are low-paying, meaning you’ll need to hit 5 just to cover your stake. The various rings and jewels are mid-to-high in terms of returns, though.

All of this adds up to a strong RTP rate of 96.28%. It’s not a ground-breaking game in terms of value, but it compares well enough to most of the competition.

what we like

  • Fun, customizable Free Spins feature
  • Large maximum payout
  • Engaging graphics and animation, complete with an intro cinematic

what we don’t like

  • Low hit rate
  • Free Spins are very rare

Clash of Camelot is a strong release, but it’s mostly carried by the theme. We have to say that seeing the Wilds spawn as the characters’ swords clash feels fantastic! The game is full of little details like that that help bring it to life.

As an online slot game, though, it’s not particularly innovative. That’s really its biggest fault – there aren’t many things setting it apart from the hundreds of other games out there. Especially considering this approach of volatile slots with big, impressive Free Spins features is very common these days.

That said, Play’n Go is marvellously well-made and engaging. It’s not a game-changer by any means, but it’s well worth an online slot session or two.
