HOW TO PLAY CHAMPION OF THE UNDERWORLD
Once the game grips you with its eerie atmosphere, you’ll find yourself in the depths of Hades. It’s teeming with the sort of creature you’d expect to find in the Underworld – demons, gorgons, minotaurs, and the like. They live at Hade’s command – which appears to be too fickle to grasp for us mortals.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, though. Mechanically, Champion of the Underworld is a 5×3 slot with no pre-set paylines. What this means is that you simply need to arrange 3 or more matching symbols on connected reels, going from left to right. As a result, there are over 4,000 ways to win. This makes it deliciously volatile, of course.
The defining features of Champion of the Underworld are the monsters themselves and the battles between them called the Wild Fight. In terms of gameplay, some of the high-paying monster symbols will occasionally duel each other. Basically, all of the symbols of a certain type of monster will square off against all of the symbols of a different kind currently present on the table.
One of these types of monsters potentially wins, and the side that lost are all turned into Wilds.
We can’t really notice a pattern in which side wins and why. However, you need at least two types of monsters on the table for the fight to happen. Still, it adds a nice bit of flavour to the experience, even if it’s completely out of the player’s hands.
