Action Ops: Snow & Sable Slot Review
Microgaming welcomes you to the futuristic city of Aurora, the home of the dynamic duo, Snow and Sable, police officers who are in charge of protecting law and order in the not so distant future. Action Ops: Snow & Sable is a five-reel, three-row video slot that benefits from 10 fixed paylines. Visually impressive, the 2018 release is all about the Free Spins feature, where reels 1 and 5 become Wild reels, as they are occupied by stacked Snow and Sable Wilds. Visit the futuristic city of Aurora and pocket up to 1,000 times the bet per spin.
Sable and Snow have been partners in the police for quite a while now. They are equipped with all sorts of high-tech gismos and gadgets and also act as Wilds that can substitute for all symbols, but the Logo and themselves, which is a Scatter that triggers the Free Spins feature. Their Car does not have any wheels, because it levitates above the ground. They also have a robot Ladybug, instead of a police dog. Their Watches are also state of the art and have all sorts of cool extras. Their Sunglasses are also used as radios. Playing cards are used for low-paying symbols.
Even though the slot boasts a futuristic look, the rules of the game are pretty standard, so you will not have to travel to the future in order to understand how everything functions around here. The 2018 release features five reels, three rows and offers 10 paylines, which pay left to right, starting from the leftmost reel. Land at least three matching symbols on a payline if you want to start winning payouts. Set the wager somewhere between £0.10 and £100 and you are ready to hit the Spin button. Activate fast play to speed the reels up a bit or sit back and enjoy the show by activating automatic spins in Autoplay.
The Microgaming title offers only one additional feature. The Free Spins feature is triggered once punters manage to land three or more Scatters on the reels. Three Scatters on the reels will get you 10 free spins, four Scatters bring 15 freebies, while all five Scatters will award you with 20 free spins and 100 times the bet. During the feature, reels 1 and 5 will become Wild reels, because they will be occupied by Snow and Sable. These two will switch places from time to time. The Wilds cannot substitute for each other, but a mix of the Wilds will get you half their value. Land 2 extra Scatters to get 5 more freebies or land three Scatters to trigger 10 extra free spins. It is possible to retrigger the feature more than once.
The maximum possible payout is set at 1,000 times the bet. Spinners can get it once they manage to fill all the cells with Sable or Snow, because both Wilds will pay 100 times the bet for five of a kind. They cannot substitute for each other, but you can make a mix of Wilds and get 50 times the bet for five of a kind. Regular symbols do not pay as much. Action Ops: Snow & Sable’s RTP is 96.03%.
Action Ops: Snow & Sable on Mobile
Since we are talking about a futuristic video slot packed with gismos and gadgets, it is only normal to expect that such a game can be played on all sorts of devices, desktop and mobile. The Microgaming product is available on desktops, tablets, laptops, smartphones, iPhones, iPads and every other compatible handheld device.
+ Two Wilds
+ Free spins with Wild reels
+ Crisp graphics
– No multipliers
– Could use more action
– Generic playing cards
We loved to play cops and robbers when we were kids and we usually pretended to be cops. We firmly believe that every cop out there would like to have a partner such as Snow and Sable, because they are really good-looking. On the other hand, this police story simply does not offer as much action as we expected. Of course, the Free Spins feature is extremely fun and rewarding, thanks to two Wild reels, but it is not that easy to trigger the feature and an additional bonus game could have been introduced, simply to spice things up a bit.
