Midas Gold Slot Review
You all remember the story about King Midas and his golden touch that even turned his only daughter into gold. Gamers will have an opportunity to test Midas touch in the Red Tiger Gaming latest release called Midas Gold, a five-reel slot that offers 243 ways to win and introduces a rewarding Midas Touch feature, with golden sticky symbols and respins. The reels of the 2018 release are placed in the luxurious palace of King Midas, overlooking a beautiful port. Playable from £0.20 per spin, Midas Gold boasts excellent graphics and a fitting soundtrack.
Red Tiger Gaming did an excellent job with the visuals, because everything needs to look perfect for King Midas, who is serving as a Scatter that triggers the Midas Touch feature. His lovely Daughter is the highest-paying regular symbol and is followed by a Throne, Golden Cup with a bull head on it, a Bawl of fruits, Midas favourite treat, while five playing cards act as low-value symbols. Interestingly enough, the slot has no Wild symbol. All regular symbols can be turned into golden symbols once the Midas Touch feature is triggered.
The 2018 release is luxurious in appearance, but very simple when talking about the rules of the game. Having no complicated features on the offer, it all comes down to just spinning the reels, waiting for King Midas. Red Tiger Gaming title features a standard 5×3 grid and offers 243 ways to win. Land at least three matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting from the far left reel and you will begin winning payouts. Betting is fixed at 20 coins per spin and, taking under consideration the coin value (£0.01 – £25), gamers can wager from £0.20 up to £500 per single spin.
Midas Gold has no Wilds whatsoever, and offers no standard free spins. Instead, Red Tiger Gaming decided to incorporate the Midas Touch feature, which can be triggered randomly or once King Midas Scatter appears on the reels. Once the feature starts, Midas’ hand will appear and point on a certain random symbol, turning it into gold. A respin is rewarded, while the golden symbol is locked on the position. The respins continue until there is a spin where no new matching symbols are added. It can happen that Midas can appear again and point to a different, higher-value symbol. If this is the case, then the previous golden symbol is upgraded, resulting with bigger wins.
This is a somewhat disappointing part of the story. Because the symbols in the 2018 release do not pay as much as we would have liked. For example, Midas’ Daughter will get you only 8 times the bet for five of a kind. Midas’ Throne will get you 6 times the bet for the same combination. The biggest possible payout is set to 2,000 times the bet, which is not that big for a man that turns everything into gold. Midas Gold’s RTP is 96.26.
Midas Gold on Mobile
The good people of Red Tiger Gaming made sure that all their products are playable across all devices. Midas Gold can be played on Androids, iPhones, iPads, tablets, laptops and desktops, in download mode and instant play. The 2018 release boasts excellent visuals and offers kick-ass gameplay, so the quality of the game is the same on every gadget.
– Luxurious visuals
– Playable across all devices
– Rewarding Midas Touch feature
– Symbols don’t pay as much as we hoped
– No freebies and no multipliers
– Needs more action
Taking everything under consideration, Midas Gold is a decent slot. When talking about the visuals, we need to say that Red Tiger Gaming did a very good job, but when reviewing the additional features, it simply lacks action. The only feature is the Midas Touch, and it is definitely not enough. We have no free spins, no Wilds and no multipliers, so after a while it can get a bit boring. Even so, the Red Tiger Gaming title is worth the shot, at least for the kick of it.
