INTRODUCTION

It’s time to go back to the future with Microgaming latest release called Temperance, developed in collaboration with Old Skool Studios. A combination of a retro style and a futuristic theme, since the reels are set in a futuristic underwater city from the past. It can be a bit confusing, but it only gets better, believe us.

The 2018 release is a five-reel slot with 20 fixed paylines and offers two exciting special features. The Survival Bonus will take you through five different levels, where you will collect instant wins, while the Free Spins feature offers up to 40 freebies with a random multiplier, which can go all the way up to 10x the bet.

HOW TO PLAY TEMPERANCE

Get your snorkelling equipment on, because you might need it before you reach the underwater city. If you don’t have any equipment, don’t worry, because everything you need can be found among the symbols that populate the reels. The Sonar leads the group of high-paying symbols and is followed by a Diver Helmet, Bottles and a Radio.

Card suits are used for low-paying symbols. The Guy is the Wild that substitutes for all regular symbols. The Girl is the Scatter that triggers the Free Spins feature, while the Diver is the Scatter that starts the Survival Bonus.

The reels are set on the very entrance of the underwater city and the reel grid and the command list are formed out of copper pipes and gear wheels. The 2018 release features five reels, three rows and offers 20 fixed paylines, which pay left to right, starting from the far left reel. Three of a kind is the minimum for landing payouts, except for the Radar and the Diver Helmet, which will also pay for two of a kind, just like the Guy Wild. Betting starts at $0.20 and the biggest possible wager cannot go over $20 per spin.

EXTRA FEATURES

The Diver Scatter appears on reels 1, 3 and 5 and once all three Scatters are on the reels, spinners will trigger the Survival Bonus feature. This is a classic Pick Me game, where you get to pick among various objects to get instant wins. Look for the Win All to advance to the next level. You will end the feature once you get to the fifth level, or when you pick Collect, whichever comes first.

Land three, four or five Girl Scatters to get 8, 12 or 20 freebies. Before each round, you will spin the Multiplier to see the potential win multiplier in each freebie. The multiplier applies on a winning freebie and can go up to 10x. Wilds tend to land in stacks during the feature. Land three more Scatter and you can retrigger the feature.

PAYOUTS

The Wild is the highest-paying symbol of the slot, offering 1,000 coins for five of a kind. If you manage to fill all the cells with Guy Wilds, you can get up to 20,000 coins. The Free Spins feature and the Bonus Survival feature can secure mind-blowing payouts and the maximum payout is set at 98,000 coins.
